Lake Whitney Sandbass Catching Tips

As you can see the sandbass (sometimes called whites) are everywhere spawning and biting everything in site. I fish Lake Whitney daily and you can fill an icebox or live well with a limit of 25 per person pretty darn fast. Usually within an hour you have caught enough fish to have one heck of a fish fry. I have been catching these fish on 2 kinds of baits. Any bait with silver in it will work well. I use silver supra dolphin brand spoons, and silver rattle traps and fish just can't get enough of these shad like baits. Always look for birds feeding on shad, because where there's birds there are tons of fish. Fishing guides often find the birds on trips fishing, so if you see a boat load of people catching fish most likely birds are around or have been. Another tip is to look for several boats ganged up in a certain area. They are not there for sight-seeing only. Their on the fish and just ease up (not too close) and you most likely will join in the fun. Anyway have fun this summer and don't catch them all.

Sandbass, Strippers, Crappie, Catfish are biting Great

During the Month of April the fishing has been really good here on beautiful Lake Whitney. I try to go every morning while it's cool, and the wind is calm. I'm usually on the lake for about 45 minutes before I catch my limit of sandbass (25). When fishing for these sandbass look for the birds that are feeding on the shad in the lakes. Birds will be hitting the water for these shad and the sandbass are below the baitfish eating them. You can catch fish just about on every cast. I have been using silver spoons and silver rattle traps and they snatch it up. The Lake is still on the low side but the fishing is great. Sandbass and Crappie are in the spawning mode at this time so they are feeding hard. After the spawn you will have to search for these great game fish. In the photo you will see where me and my neighbor went out and landed 50 sandbass in less than an hour. The day would have been perfect if only he would have helped me clean

Sandbass are spawning, catfish are good on worms, minnows, shrimp & shad. According to the news around the lake many individuals are going out and catching their limits on sandbass and crappie. The attached photo is one of the large crappie a friend of mine brought home on a recent fishing trip to Lake Aquilla. I came up with this item in my woodshop. One is without a photo, and the 2nd is when you add the photo. A Key Plaque in Aggies * Longhorns * Cowboys * Sooners, etc., which you can place photo's inside and then utilize as a key hanger. I have covered these with plexi glass so you will have that shine and glass like appearance inside your home. Also you will be able to find those Auto or Home keys and not lose them when you toss them on the table. Hang this item inside your entry door and show the sports colors, while at the same time putting your favorite photo's inside it. If you decide to order you can send me the photo's you want inside and I can place them inside prior to you receiving the item. We also ship this item if requested. When you get ready to change your photo's out all you do is take out one screw, place new photo's inside, put screw back in to tighten and there you have it. This item should last, many, many years. For bargain-hunters, there's only one thing that's more thrilling than getting a good deal: getting something for free!! With that in mind, I searched for free items that are actually worth pursuing. My list barely scratches the surface. Note that many require Internet access, so if you don't have a computer at home, go to your public library and use theirs - that, too, is free. One note: Free offers and Web site names change fast. While these offers were all available not long ago when I searched them, some may have expired or changed. A key messages is, that with a little searching, you'll be surprised at all the free stuff you can find!

How To Catch Catfish

Hello there... I live in Whitney, Texas, and love to fish this lake. I have several areas that are great fishing spots and have really made a very hot fishing hole, so here's the secret:

Buy a bag of "Cotton Seed". Place the cotton seed into a bag "Burlap bag". Soak the bag in water for three or four days. Pick out a good fishing spot that you like. Tie the bag to a tree limb or anchor it down so that it is about 2 feet under the water. Pour the soured cotton seed all around the area. Wait a few days Come back prepaired to catch huge amounts of Catfish, and bass. If you can set a trotline out in the same area, do it, and check it often. I have always caught fish on Lake Whitney, and I'm sure this will work on any lake. I have additional secrets if you continue to tune in. Good luck and Good Fishing.
